LAHORE:

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has been given a five-year mandate by the people and the rest of the political parties should wait for the next elections to come into power, former minister Rana Sanaullah said on Saturday.

Talking to reporters, Sanaullah criticised Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Pervez Elahi. “He should wait for the 2018 elections and then present himself to the people.

The party who secures a majority of the votes will get into power. The Chaudhry brothers are upset over the performance of the Punjab government,” he said.

He said that the PML-Q had been defeated in the last general elections. “The PML-Q leadership should not forget how the people rejected them in the 2013 general elections. If their performance was as good as they now claim, they would never have been voted out by the people. Elahi should keep one thing in mind that he will never return to power,” Sanaullah said.

Referring to the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) protest, he said that Imran Khan was trying to mislead the country’s youth. “Imran Khan has claimed that he will continue the sit-in even if everyone else leaves him. What kind of politics is that?” Sanaullah said.
